This is a truly unique place to stay amid Costa Rica's famous Osa Peninsula.
Michael Cranford wanted to create an adult version of every little boy’s dream: a tricked out treehouse. From some initial sketches on a napkin Cranford, who is an aficionado of architecture but has never worked in the field, designed and built the six-level, seventeen-meter-tall structure. Part of the uniqueness of Cranford’s design is that the structure barely touches the young Guanacaste tree that serves as the centerpiece of this work of art in the Osa Peninsula.
Travelers, take note: you can rent out this treehouse. Cranford is running a special right now, and you can stay four nights (great for exploring the Osa Peninsula) for $950. Normal rental prices start at $1,800 a week. The treehouse sleeps four to six people comfortably.
